We are starting our Strive for 5 initiative again to try and encourage everyone to come to school every day. For the next 5 weeks we are tracking our attendance to see if we can beat our last attendance drive. In October we managed to reach over 500 ‘weeks’. Every child who is in school for a full week counts as one week. This time we are attempting an even bigger challenge. We have added on an extra week and we are hoping to reach 650 weeks!! We will need everybody to try their best to come in every day.

On the last day before the Christmas holidays we celebrated all the children in the school who had missed 0 days or only 1 day in the first term. Congratulations and keep up the good work!! 🙂

Congratulations to the last attendance champions of November and the first attendance champions of December!!

Last week we held our first STBJNS Toy Swap Shop!

We had lots of very generous donations of toys that were swapped with tokens to exchange for new toys on collection day.

Well done to all of the attendance champions so far this month! One more week to go to finish out November.

St. Bernadette’s JNS is accepting applications for admission into our Early Start, Junior infants and Special class for September 2026 from Monday November 10th to Thursday December 18th.The application form is available in the admissions section of the website here. Hard copies of the form can be collected from the school office from November 10th.

We are so happy to say that all the children achieved their goal and got to have their Halloween disco today. We hoped to reach 400 weeks over the past month and we did so much better than that, we got 526 WEEKS!!!! Well done everyone! Have a well deserved break. 🙂

This week Hunter, Kobi & Braxton went around the school to collect the attendance data. We are delighted to say this was our best week yet with 133 children being in school all 5 days this week. This brings our total to 381 weeks!! This means next week we only need to get 19 weeks. AND next week is a short week so it should be even easier. There will be an announcment on Thursday morning after the roll has been taken to let everyone know if the disco is going to go ahead. Well done to all the children and parents!! Fingers crossed we can keep up the fantastic work.
