Building Bridges

This week, we have learned about the different types of bridges around the world: beam, arch and truss. Then, we worked in pairs to construct bridges out of materials in our classroom. We learned that blocks would be a good material to build a bridge, but magnets would not be very good! (May 2023)

Brazil

We have been learning all about Brazil in 1st class. The red table made this fantastic project all about the country of Brazil 🇧🇷 Did you know that Brazil is the fifth biggest country in the whole world! (May 2023)

Congratulations to Rio for winning our first attendance award

Happy Easter

Ms Curley’s class went to visit Ms. Cashin today. We miss her very much and we were delighted to go back and show her all we have learned in first class. Some of us had grown so much that we were too big for the chairs in senior infants! Thank you Ms. Cashin for helping us with the Montessori equipment! (April 2023)

SNOW AT SCHOOL

We were so happy to wake up to snow this morning! The boys and girls in Ms. Curley’s class had so much fun building a snowman and having a snowball fight today! We were even treated to some beautiful home made vegetable soup from room 7 afterwards to warm us up. (March 2023)

WORLD BOOK DAY

We celebrated World Book Day this week in school and had lots of fun activities. We made book reports, wrote a class book all about zombies, went on a trip to the library, took part in a Where’s Wally hunt around the school and even got a visit from Wally! Busy, busy , busy! (February 2023)

Trip to the zoo

Ms. Curley’s class had a very busy week this week! On Tuesday, we went to the zoo and had a fantastic time with all of 1st class. We saw lions, giraffes, zebras, orangutans, seals and lots of other animals. Our favourite part was when we acted like palaeontologists and were digging for dinosaur fossils! (February 2023)
