Beach Trip

On Thursday 15th June, we went on our school tour to Portmarnock Beach, with all of our friends from Green Block. We had the most amazing day ever!!! We played in the sand, we built sandcastles, we dug holes, we played with our beachballs and we went swimming in the sea!! Some of us went sunbathing and some us collected shells. We ran around all day having the best fun!! All of the children behaved exceptionally well, it was an absolute pleasure to spend the day with them at the beach.

Sports Day

We have been super busy for Active Schools Week. On Wednesday we went to Collinstown Park for Sports Day. We did lots of races: egg & spoon, sack race, running, hoop races. And we also played dodgeball and had a penalty shoot out with Mr Walshe. We played in the Playground and had an absolutely fantastic day!!

May Highlights

May has been a busy month in Room 7. We’ve been working really hard but we’ve also done lots of fun activities. Last week we visited the Library with Ms Daly’s Class. On every second Wednesday, Jackie has been teaching us dancing; we love dance class!! Karen brought the chicks from Early Start to our classroom. We were so lucky to hold the chicks!! We’ve helped Niall in the School Garden and we celebrated Sarah & Tayyab’s 9th Birthdays!!

Conor & Sarah made their First Holy Communion; they were absolutely beautiful on the day and a credit to their parents and teachers. We are so proud of them.

31 March 2023

For the last three weeks, Room 7 has been bustling with learning and amazing activities. We wore green clothes for Lá Glas to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. We had our last swimming class this week; all of the children have thoroughly enjoyed swimming. The children planned, organised and prepared a Spring Picnic. The weather was miserable, so we had our picnic in Room 7!!

We have been working really hard on our language, communication and social interaction skills. We went shopping in Tesco to practice these skills. The children were responsible for getting all the items on the shopping list, pushing the trolley, packing the bags and using the self-scanner for paying. Each child had to choose 1 Easter Egg from the hundreds that were available, this was a difficult task! However, the children demonstrated amazing skills: they waited, they took turns, they were respectful towards other shoppers and they used beautiful manners. Myself, Tanya and Wes are incredibly proud of how the children behaved and interacted while we were shopping.

Wishing everyone a very Happy Easter!!

6 March 2023

The past few weeks have been really busy in Room 7. The class has started swimming lessons, which they absolutely love! On February 28, we went on a very special trip to Dublin Zoo. We saw lots of animals and also went to Zoorassic World where we learnt all about dinosaurs. We dug for dinosaur bones, which was amazing.

For World Book Day the class created an audiovisual book called “That’s not Room 7”. Every child in the class contributed to the content and the recording of the book. I am unbelievably proud of how hard the children worked to create this audiovisual book.

Even though we have been so busy, we haven’t forgotten to have fun!!
